Wedgwood Cups And Saucers – 6

Mid 20th Century Wedgwood Cups And Saucers

Set of six saucers and six cups

Pattern: Green Avon

The pattern is a green floral pattern with gold gilt edge on both the saucer, cup and handle edges. Manufactured by Wedgwood – bone china, made in England

Despite the slightly varying back stamps – these were likely produced during the 1950s (two of the saucers rise slightly higher than the other four)

Specific individual designers for the "Avon" pattern are generally not credited in public retail archives, as many such patterns were produced in-house by Wedgwood designers during the 20th century.

Cake Plates & Starter Plates (pictured altogether) are not included in this listing, but are available in separate listings

History of Wedgwood: Founded in 1759 Josiah Wedgwood worked as an independent potter aged just 29. Wedgwood experimented avidly with clay, exploring its many possibilities, including exploring how pottery changed when fired at various temperatures and durations. He is today remembered as the “Father of English Potters”.
