Pair of mid 20th century dining chairs Model 49 – designed by Danish designer Erik Buch (designed in 1949) Produced by O.D. Møbler, Denmark (formally Oddense Maskinsnedkeri until the late 1960s – early 1970s) – label on the underside of the chairs Made in Denmark – stamped “made in Denmark on the underside of the seat

Some of the chairs also have additional labels from when they were reupholstered in 1992 in USA The chairs have a solid teak frame with upholstered plywood for the backrest and seat. The chairs have been newly reupholstered in a light grey wool fabric, and have had new foam fitted.

Three sets of two

Erik Buch: Born on 4th June 1923 in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen. Buch trained as a carpenter in Helsingør and later at the Copenhagen School of Design until 1947. After initially working in Oslo, Buch returned to Copenhagen to open a design studio from 1947-1956. He died 4th February 1982

Condition report:

Good Condition – with some minor signs of wear on the frames commensurate with age and use. The upholstery and foam has been newly replaced
